Golden circle
Iceland's most popular day tour is without doubt the Golden Circle. You visit the beautiful Þingvellir national park which hosted Icelands viking parliament Althing, founded in the year 930. In Thingvellir you also see Almannagja where two tectonic plates collide and form a crevice. You visit Geysir where you find geysers that erupt every few minutes. You also visit Gullfoss, one of Icelands most beautiful waterfalls.

Snæfellsnes
Snæfellsnes peninsula has amazingly beautiful scenery. You get to see Stykkisholmur fishing village with it's colorful old houses. Some people choose to take a boat ride from there on the bay to get first hand experience of the small islands with amazing bird life. On the edge of the peninsula you find Snaefellsjokull glacier which is small and therefor creates a perfect photo opportunity. Snaefellsjokull is historic in many ways. Jules Verne thought it to be the entrance to the middle of the earth and once it was believed that aliens would land there bringing people from all over the world to welcome them.
